The Purpose of Christian Education at Bear Creek

          The Church has been given the ministry of Christian education. Empowered by the Spirit, people are called to faithful discipleship and community, so that all may: 

Know that the Lord is God (Psalms 100:3) 
    - seeking to understand the biblical story
     - acknowledging God's presence in all creations
     - accepting God's love and the gift of Jesus Christ
     - claiming inherent worth as children of God   

Grow up in every way...into Christ (Eph. 4:15) 
      - discovering and using gifts for building up the faith community
      - equipping persons to live in wholeness in the midst of diversity
      - practicing reconciliation for the healing of brokenness
      - demonstrating faith values throughout life

Go into all the World (Mark 16:15)        
     - inviting people to commit their live to Christ
     - encouraging persons to embody Christ's love and justice
     - becoming ambassadors for Christ in the world
     - proclaiming the good news of God's shalom
